Using the calculator
Equations Calculator is free to use for learning, homework, teaching and personal or professional work. You may not use it in a way that breaks the law, or try to disrupt or overload the website.
Accuracy
We work hard to make every answer correct: answers are checked by putting them back into your equation, and the calculator says so when it can't be sure. Even so, we can't guarantee it is free of mistakes.
- Answers found by searching are accurate to about 10 significant digits.
- Searches cover −10100 to 10100; an answer outside that range would be missed.
- Equations with endless answers (such as
sin(x) = 0.5) show the 12 closest to zero.
Don't rely on the calculator alone for anything where a mistake could cause harm or loss, such as engineering, medical, financial or safety decisions. Check important results another way.
Schoolwork and exams
The calculator is designed to help you learn. Follow your school's or exam board's rules about using calculators and online tools.
No warranty
The website is provided "as is", without any warranty. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from using it or relying on its results.
